Hello --
I'm trying to re-map the B2 network address to my Windows Machine. I've done this many times in the past (with the B2 and many other devices).

Problem: For some reason, on mapping the drive, the B2 isn't accepting my login/password, which I don't believe I ever have changed from the default.
-The drive is connected.
-I'm using the correct IP address.
-I rebooted the B2

How can I reset this password? I don't see a process in the forums, but I could have missed it.

Thanks.

 - In order to map a drive letter (on Windows) to the shared music folder on the B2, the B2 must be sharing the folder: have you checked that NAS is turned ON on the B2? (Consider turning it off and then back on again.)
 - In order for Windows to be absolutely sure that it is authenticating to a remote server (as opposed to looking for a nonexistent set of credentials locally, which it seems to do occasionally), it can be helpful to put the IP address of the remote server (in this case the B2) in front of the account name -- for example, using my B2's IP address, where you would put the username, put
192.168.0.5\root

 - If you haven't changed the default root password on the B2, it should be brennan (all lowercase). The SMB (Windows sharing) password is maintained separately from the Linux login password; you could use ssh to log in to the B2 and run the smbpasswd command to change the SMB password if you need to.

Hi nannerb,

Try turning NAS off and then on again on the B2.

User name = root (or add the IP Address as Mark suggests)
Password = brennan
