I searched the forums for help but didn't find much. I saw a topic about USB device compatibility, that seemed to be biased more toward DACs but had a few mentions of Bluetooth adapters. Unfortunately, the links that were supposed to go to the actual compatibility list seem to all be broken.

I want to try a more powerful Bluetooth transceiver to see if it penetrates my old apartment building's plaster walls better than the stock dongle - I can *almost* stay connected via Bluetooth from the bedroom to the living room, but the signal drops about two feet from the end of the hallway. I read that many modern adapters won't work with the B3 because they require certain drivers that are included with Windows 10 and later, or can be downloaded to Win 7/8. Being a Raspberry Pi/Linux based system, the Brennans don't come with such drivers and even if one knows how to get Linux equivalents, there's no way to install them.

I found an older device, the LM Technologies LM1010, that says it's Linux compatible, and operates using Bluetooth 4, which is of the correct era of the Brennan's development. The datasheet specifically mentions compatibility with Ubuntu 14.04.03 (Kernel 3.13.0-77-generic) and Ubuntu 15.10 (Kernel 4.2.0-16-generic). I think I've read here somewhere that B3 is based on a 5.x kernel. Does it seem likely that this adapter will be compatible with my new B3?

Has anyone tried this adapter? Any reports of success or failure?

Thanks in advance for your insights.

Thanks. Never came up in my searches.
I'll update the spreadsheet again.
